Enforcement of the Responsible Gaming Code of Practice
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all gaming establishments comply with the Responsible Gaming Code of Practice (RGCP). According to PAGCOR, the primary objectives of the RGCP are to minimize potential harm to individual players and the community, prevent gambling addiction, and strictly prohibit underage gambling. Under Philippine regulations, gambling is strictly restricted to individuals who are 21 years old and above.
Self-Exclusion Program and Implementation
To assist players facing potential gambling issues, PAGCOR provides a formal self-exclusion program. According to the state regulator, applicants can request specific exclusion periods of six months, one year, or five years. PAGCOR notes that a self-exclusion or banning period is completely irrevocable for the first six months. Once the selected exclusion period is fully completed, the self-exclusion order is automatically lifted.
PAGCOR emphasizes that the exclusion and banning orders are implemented across all gaming sites that are licensed and operated by the regulator. Applications for self-exclusion can be submitted via email or through a physical drop box located at the MET Live Building, Central Business Park 1-A, Macapagal Boulevard corner EDSA Extension in Pasay City.
