PAGCOR Recognized by President Marcos for P5.67-B Dividend Remittance

Recognition at Malacañang Palace

During the 2026 Government-Owned and -Controlled Corporations (GOCC) Day held at Malacañang Palace on July 8, 2026, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. presented a Certificate of Recognition to PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco. According to a report by PAGCOR, the state gaming regulator was recognized for remitting P5.67 billion in dividends to the national government for fiscal year 2025. This remittance established PAGCOR as the fifth-largest contributor among 50 GOCCs.

Compliance with the Dividends Law

PAGCOR reported that the P5.67-billion remittance represents 50 percent of its income in 2025. This contribution complies with Republic Act No. 7656, also known as the Dividends Law, which requires GOCCs to remit at least half of their annual net earnings to the national government. Data from the Department of Finance indicated that total dividends from 50 GOCCs reached Php147.15 billion in 2026. As of July 8, 2026, actual collections had reached Php140 billion, with the remaining balance scheduled for remittance before the end of the year.

Executive Statements on Fiscal Responsibility

In his keynote address, President Marcos Jr. praised the contributions of GOCCs, describing them as “paragons of progress, equity, and opportunity.” The President stated that every peso remitted by GOCCs strengthens the government’s ability to deliver essential public services. He added, “You have shown that government institutions can deliver with professionalism, produce meaning results, and earn the trusts of the Filipino people.”

PAGCOR Chairman Alejandro H. Tengco stated that the recognition highlights the agency’s ongoing commitment to nation-building and fiscal discipline. Tengco noted, “Despite recent challenges brought about by global uncertainties, PAGCOR remains resolute in its commitment to support nation-building initiatives that help uplift the lives of Filipinos.” He further emphasized that the agency will continue to exercise fiscal discipline and work harder to generate greater revenues for the benefit of the nation.
